We have had 3 pairs of glasses turned in at the office recently:  A maroon pair with leopard print bows were found in the gym.  Black frames with a little blue on bows.  Brown & light brown frames and little clearer on the bottom of the frame, bows have a little bit of cut-out design.  Claim in the elementary office.

 

If you are not feeling well, you need to go and see Megan Lingenfelter.  Do not contact your parents on your own.  Go thru the proper channels.  Thank you for your cooperation.

 

Students-you are not allowed to eat in class unless it has been ok’d by your teacher.  This includes candy.  Also, no eating out of your locker.  If you have food/drink in your locker, you need to get rid of it.

Winter Cheer camp will be held for students in grades 3-6 on November 26, 27 and 29. Cost is $25 and includes a T-shirt. Students will be bussed to the high school for practice, then perform at half time of
the High School girls basketball game! Students will learn cheer and a dance routine. Registration forms will be available in the elementary and middle school offices. Please have registrations in by November

If you sign up to go to the care center or assisted living, please be sure you go. We had some disappointed residents at the care center and assisted living today. They love to have you kids there and when you don’t come, we let them down.

MIDDLE SCHOOL BAND & CHORUS CONCERT INFORMATION

DATE:  Tuesday, December 4, 2018        LOCATION: High School Gymnasium
TIME:  Concert @ 7:00 P.M. (Arrive by 6:30 for Warm-Ups)
WHAT TO WEAR:  Nice clothes.  (No T-Shirts or Jeans Please)

DEC. 4th:  TUESDAY PRACTICES SCHEDULED AT THE HIGH SCHOOL
7th & 8th Grade:  Have your parents drop you off at the HS in the morning, or ride your morning bus route to the HS.
-8:30 A.M. Rehearsal in the HS Gym (MS Band then MS Choir)
-9:50 A.M. Buses depart the HS
-10:00 A.M. 7/8 Music Students back to classes @ the MS
6th Grade:  We will practice at our “regular times” over @ the High School.
-1:55 P.M. Buses leave MS  (Boys on 1 Bus / Girls on the other)
-2:05 P.M. Rehearsal in the HS Gym (6th Band then 6th Choir)
-Get on your regular route bus to go home, or a ride on a bus where there is seating available back to the MS.

Middle School Select Choir Auditions (Grades 6-8)

On Thursday, Nov 15th, Mr Ackerman will hold auditions for the Middle School Select Choir from 7:30-8:15 am in the MS music room. Auditions continue on Monday, Nov 19th at 7:30 am. Any MS student who is currently enrolled in chorus may audition for this group. The MS Select Choir sings at the March and May concerts. Any 6th grade student who is selected for the MS select choir is AUTOMATICALLY selected for the 5th/6th grade honor choir which begins the 2nd week in January. Since this is a long-term commitment, please discuss auditioning with your parents BEFORE Thursday, Nov. 15th.  All basketball players and wrestlers who sing are encouraged to audition.

School picture retakes are rescheduled for tomorrow morning at 8:30am (or before school) on Wednesday, Nov. 14th. Eli Toomsen, Ashley Sikyta, Trevor Goltz need retakes. Also any new students since Oct 5th. If there’s anyone else, please come to the office today so we get your paperwork doneJ

 

Congratulations to all the honor choir students for a wonderful day at NIACC.  You represented our school with pride and excellence.  Thank you for all your hard work and dedication.  Also, thank you to the parents who attended the concert and provided transportation to and from rehearsal.  It truly was a great experience for all involved.  

 

Peer Helpers: Students who are babysitting at conferences, please check your time, we still need 2 students to collect toys/games.

 

If you were in Careers class, your parents will need to sign off on your career plan at conferences. Please let Mrs. Askelsen know if you will be coming before or after your conference time.

 

We have had 3 pairs of glasses turned in at the office recently:  A maroon pair with leopard print bows were found in the gym.  Black frames with a little blue on bows.  Brown & light brown frames and little clearer on the bottom of the frame, bows have a little bit of cut-out design.  Claim in the elementary office.

 

If you are not feeling well, you need to go and see Megan Lingenfelter.  Do not contact your parents on your own.  Go thru the proper channels.  Thank you for your cooperation.

 

Students-you are not allowed to eat in class unless it has been ok’d by your teacher.  This includes candy.  Also, no eating out of your locker.  If you have food/drink in your locker, you need to get rid of it.

Winter Cheer camp will be held for students in grades 3-6 on November 26, 27 and 29. Cost is $25 and includes a T-shirt. Students will be bussed to the high school for practice, then perform at half time of
the High School girls basketball game! Students will learn cheer and a dance routine. Registration forms will be available in the elementary and middle school offices. Please have registrations in by November

Middle School Select Choir Auditions (Grades 6-8)

On Thursday, Nov 15th, Mr Ackerman will hold auditions for the Middle School Select Choir from 7:30-8:15 am in the MS music room. Auditions continue on Monday, Nov 19th at 7:30 am. Any MS student who is currently enrolled in chorus may audition for this group. The MS Select Choir sings at the March and May concerts. Any 6th grade student who is selected for the MS select choir is AUTOMATICALLY selected for the 5th/6th grade honor choir which begins the 2nd week in January. Since this is a long-term commitment, please discuss auditioning with your parents BEFORE Thursday, Nov. 15th.  All basketball players and wrestlers who sing are encouraged to audition.

There will be a sport shuttle bus after school.  It leaves at 6:00 from the circle drive.

The following middle school students will be participating in the North Central District Honor Choir at NIACC in Mason City: Emma Eekhoff, Alexis Martin, Ellie Mewes, Kennedy Trca, Abby Dorn, Keve Braun, Payton DeCoster, Nick Sisson, Liam Whitehead, Izaac Watne, Owen Tew, Joseph Bradburn, Caden Hankins, Erick Perez, and Ethan Hurt.  The concert is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the NIACC gym in Mason City.  All tickets should have been purchased online in advance. This concert is SOLD OUT!  Have a wonderful day.

A Big Thank You to the Hagie Foundation for graciously donating $5000.00 to the middle school fruit program.  This program allows all our students to have fresh fruit before and after school.  Also during Homebase.  Their generosity is greatly appreciated.

 

Peer Helpers interested in helping with the Dows Veterans Day program on Saturday, November 10th from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the Dows Community Center are to meet in Mrs. Askelsen's classroom today (Tuesday) during recess. There will be breakfast pizza and a short presentation at 9:30 as part of the program.  If you are unable to meet today and would like to help, contact Mr. Holmes (lholmes@clargold.org). 

 

CGD Sports Boosters are selling Basketball and Athletic shirts for the upcoming 2018 season. Order forms are available in the office or at Preppy Farmer’s downtown. Orders are due by Thursday, November 15th at 3p.m. Turnaround is about 2 weeks. Orders can be picked up at the High School on November 30th after school. Tickets for the North Central District Honor Choir go on sale Thursday, Nov. 1st at 7:30 a.m.  Tickets are $7 each, and the tickets will sell out fast.  There will not be an overflow room in the NIACC auditorium this year.  Tickets have to be purchased online in advance of the event.  Please adhere to maximum ticket allowance.
