Rake-and-Run  (Lead by CGD StuCo)

When: Saturday, Nov. 2 @ 9:00 am- 11:30 am

Where: Meet @ CGD highschool at 8:30 am

What is it?: A rake-and-run is a community service event where students will quickly rake up a yard, throw the leaves onto a tarp in a pick-up truck, then run to the next house. We would like to focus on yards where the person may be unable to rake for themselves.

Why: This will count towards Silver Cord hours and there will be hot chocolate and cupcakes at the end at the high school.

Who: Anyone! All of the student body is welcome to join. The more, the better :)

How: Sign up in the office if you would like to participate, and go to a student council member if you’d like more information! (Sign-ups on the 2nd page)

Suggestions: Do you know someone who lives in Clarion who would benefit from this?  Send names and addresses to Mrs. Walker - hwalker@clargold.org

The Peer Helpers are looking for 5-8 people to help with their Haunted Hallway on Saturday, October 26th.  The dance/haunted hallway runs from 6:30-9:30.  A fun way to earn silver cord hours or just give people a good scare! :)  If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Friesleben.   afriesleben@clargold.org

Attention: If you want to see Iowa Central Community College's performance of Falling Awake on Saturday, October 12,  please sign up in the office. It was written by a former ICCC student and tells the story of a young woman in a coma who awakens to find herself in "Numa" - an ethereal "holding place" for those who are neither dead nor alive. There will be hilarious moments of comedy and serious conflicts about the pain and heartache that comes with living in an imperfect world.   See Mrs. EnTin for details.
