STATE WRESTLING, If you are planning to go to state wrestling, there are permission slips in the office. They will require a parent signature as well as teacher signatures so you can get your homework ahead of time. 

The Sports Boosters are chartering a bus for State Team Duals.  The cost is $20 for the ride down and back but tickets need to be purchased for admission.  Sign up and pay in the high school office today.  The bus will leave from the high school parking lot at 8:00 a.m. and return after the night session.  All high school students, the community people and middle school students accompanied by an adult may ride.

If you are currently using a super drive AND it is not check out, please stop by the library today! I currently only know where 2 of the drives are. 

FRIENDS Club is holding a fundraiser during lunch today called "Crush for a Crush." Purchase a can of Crush soda pop for your "crush" for only $1. You can even include a note and make it an anonymous gift! Cans of soda will be delivered to all recipients on Thursday afternoon. 

Ellsworth Community College is offering 12, $5,000 scholarships.   This scholarship is designed for students who desire a career in production agriculture or other entrepreneurial agriculture careers.  Please email Mrs. Charlson for the application.

The new vocal lesson schedule for all students involved in Solo/Small Ensemble State Contest begins Monday, Feb. 12th.  Students, please know your new lesson times.  You will not be called over the intercom.

9th thru 11th graders will be taking Iowa Assessment Tests this coming Monday and Tuesday morning.  Tests will be given from 8:30-10:00 am both mornings.  Seniors - you need not be here until 9:50 or so.  Do not be late!!

Good Luck to the Cowboy Wrestlers at Sectionals tomorrow at Humboldt.  That meet starts at 12:00 noon!  This begins the road to State!!

Good Luck to those competing on Saturday at Large Group State Speech contest in Deborah.  Leave time is 7:00 a.m.

We are traveling to Decorah on Saturday. It is a long distance!

We want to leave AT 7 a.m. Please be at the school by 6:50 at the latest.

Bring snacks for in the car and money for lunch on your own at the contest.

Our performance is at 12:10, and we are school 193.

We will leave the contest by 4 p.m. and eat supper at Applebee's in Mason City.

The club will pay up to $12 for your supper. Bring $1 for the tip.

Parent’s Night and Senior Recognition Night is tonight.  Basketball girls, mgrs. & cheerleaders will be introduced but only Seniors will be escorted by their parents prior to the Varsity girls game.  Basketball boys, mgrs., and the Dance Team will be introduced but only Seniors will be escorted by their parents prior to the Varsity boys game. The Clarion Branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women) will serve a meal from 5:30-7:00 pm tonight at the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows High School.  The cost is $6.00.  All proceeds will be given as scholarships at CGDHS.  The menu includes maidrites, chips, relish, bars, and drink.

The CGD Industrial Tech Club invites everyone to their Silent Auction tonight during the CGD basketball games. The auction will run from 4:30pm thru half time of the Varsity Boys game. Silent auction items include: ISU and Iowa Football Helmets, ISU, Iowa, and UNI Signs, CGD Bags Game, Pretzels by Peg, deer sticks, baked goods and much more. Proceeds from the silent auction help support the students upcoming trip to Europe.

Art Announcement:  High school students attended the Iowa Central High School Art Show reception yesterday, Sunday January 28th. This was the first time Iowa Central hosted the show and all area high schools were invited to participate. Three CGD students had artwork featured in the show, Amaya Watne, Marah Burkholder and Noelia Meza and other art students attended the reception to view the artwork and provide support. It was a fun afternoon trip and I look forward to taking students again next year! Two CGD students received awards and scholarships to attend ICCC, Noelia Meza 2nd in Drawing and Marah Burkholder 2nd in Mixed Media. Congratulations girls! 

TAG Meeting this week- Wednesday January 31 - attendance is required! There are two sessions to choose from. Please attend 1. Morning session @ 8:00 a.m. or Afternoon session @ 1:25 p.m. in the Art Room.
